PREVENTING THEFT
"Common Sense Is Your Best Defence"
- Always ensure your quad/bike is parked in a safe place and take your keys with you.
- Never hide a second set of keys on or near your quad/bike.
- Never leave your quad/bike running unattended.
- Engrave expensive accessories/parts with your VIN number or personal ID number.
- Install an effective anti-theft device and use it.
- Take a photograph of your quad/bike and keep it in a safe place.
BUYING & SELLING USED QUADS OR BIKES
" If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably isn't"
- Verify quad/bike details at Stolen Quads & Bikes.
- When buying from a private individual, make sure the title and registration match the name and address of the person selling the quad/bike.
- Be cautious of a seller with no fixed address, place of employment, phone number or who only has a mobile phone or pager number.
- Check that the VIN, Engine & Chassis No's on the quad/bike correspond with those on the registration documents.
- Be wary of a loose ignition switch, loose or joined wires and new paint.
- Always ensure that you are not alone when concluding the sale and don't meet the potential buyer/seller at a location unknown to you, rather meet the potential buyer at a police station.
